5 Minute Face: My Everyday Makeup Routine

Confession: I love a good dramatic makeup. Cover me in rainbows and handfuls of glitter and I am in my happy place. However, there are days where I just don't want to put in all the effort (It's not often, mind you but it happens). For those days I have my simple go-to 5 minute face to get me feeling fresh and ready to face the world!

Disclaimer: What is "natural and everyday" for Me, might be alot of makeup for You! Figure out what works for You. Find what features You want to focus on, if any, and go for it Gorgeous! You do You, You're the best You there is!

Continue scrolling down to see what I used, as well as some time saving Quick Tips so you can get out the door faster!

How I achieved this look:

First, I applied a cream foundation to my moisturized skin. (I used MAC's Prolongwear SPF 20 Foundation compact). Quick Tip #1: I like this particular foundation because it is super quick to apply, (it comes with a sponge, which i used) and it has a nice cream-to-powder finish, so I can skip powdering my skin.

For my cheeks, I opted for a cream blush. (I used Revlon's Photoready cream blush in Flushed, and applied it to my lips as well). Quick Tip #2: Cream blushes can double as cheek and lip colours. Double duty products can save You time and money! I also added a tiny bit of a cream highlight to the top of my cheek bones to add a little bit of light to the face. (The cream I used to highlight was MAC's Hush cream colour base). I used my -clean- fingers to apply both the blush and highlight colours.

In my brows I quickly brushed through a little tinted brow gel. This will add a hint of colour, and hold Your hairs in place. (Brow gel by MAC).

On my eyes I kept it very soft and very simple. I swept a satiny nude shadow to my browbone using a large fluffy blending brush. Quick Tip #3: The fluffier Your brush, the sheerer the application will be. This makes for a softer and more blended appearance. Using the same brush, I applied a shimmering pink shadow starting at the lash line and blending up into the crease. (The shadows I used were both from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: Strange, and Burnout).

To keep the look soft I only applied eyeliner to the Inner rim of the upper lashline and very lightly to the lower outer lashline. Quick Tip #4: Applying eyeliner to the inner rim of the upper lashline will give You the appearance of a fuller lashline. The liner that i used for this what MAC's Technakohl in Photograuve (a deep brown shade). I followed up with a healthy coat of Benefits "They're Real" mascara to finish off the eyes.

Lastly, I applied a little bit of gloss to the lips on top of the Revlon cream blush I had applied earlier. (The gloss i used was Nyx's Butter gloss in Eclair).

That completes the look, it was very quick, very simple and still looks like an effort was put forward making it great for someone with (a) no time, or for someone more like me, (b) lazy.

Photo Diary: Lighthouse Beach

On Sunday, Bubs (my guy) surprised Me and let Me know that we would be taking a roadtrip down to Lighthouse Beach. We are staying in Governor's Harbour on the island of Eleuthera. Lighthouse Beach is roughly a 50 mile drive South from Governor's, on the furthest point of the island. Lighthouse is Bubs and My favourite beach on the entire island.
It is about an hour and a half drive, so we loaded up Our gear, and got ready to head out on the road.

Before leaving Governors Harbour we stopped off at my favourite restaurant in town, 1648. We wanted to have a picnic at Lighthouse Beach, so I grabbed my fave the tomato bruschetta.
After gassing up the SUV we turned up the 80's on 8 and headed off on our journey.

A little tip for anyone ever planning on going to Lighthouse Beach: Take an SUV. If You have a car, be prepared to walk the 3 miles in to the actual beach. The roads are so hideous and have not been maintained at all. It is a narrow road, and there's room for approximately one vehicle (This is a two way road). This picture doesn't even come close to showing how bad the roads are, I had to concentrate on driving, so I picked a not to bad place to stop and take a picture. On some of the curvy bends You kind of have to hold Your breath and pray that someone doesnt come barreling around the corner in the opposite direction. I personally enjoy the 4x4ing, but I think I scare My Bubs sometimes with my driving. ;)

This is the first view You get when You arrive at the beach. Is it not the most amazing? The water is so clear its like glass. I always feel my breath get taken away by the beauty when we pull up. It is definitely one of the prettiest beaches on the island, if not the most. Another really nice thing about this particular beach, is that every time we go we are either alone or there is maybe one or two other people on the beach. Great for a nice quiet retreat.

Everytime we come to this beach I climb up on these rocks and pretend I'm Ariel from The Little Mermaid and sing "Part Of Your World". Am I the only one who does that when they're near the ocean? I swear that this beach is so magical that if You were ever going to see a mermaid it would be here.

Lighthouse is a beautiful Pink Sands beach, and occasionally You can see some beautiful shells. I am no expert on shells but as far as my research can tell this particular shell (which you see often around Eleuthera) is -possibly- a Sunrise Tellin. The colour on these shells are so vibrant and gorgeous!

It was a beautiful afternoon for swimming and in My Bubses case, snorkelling. The water was warm, and so clear. There are many beautiful reefs to explore and lots of beach to walk. I cannot recommend this destination enough!

I do hope that You guys enjoyed my pics from our day of fun in the sun! If You have any questions feel free to comment below or email me. If You like, feel free to Tweet on Twitter, Pin my pictures to Pinterest, and Share on Facebook. You can also follow me on Instagram and Bloglovin

Trash Talk: A Review of Products I've Used Up

Trash Talk, this is where I review the products that I've used up. The good, the bad, and all the trash!!
I've made a deal with Myself that I need to use up what I have and make a dent in my "samples" bin. I wanted to try and use up a bunch of the pesky little sample sizes of products that I've got kicking around. Some of these products I loved, some of them it was painful to get through, but either way I'm here to let You know what I thought of them all! Lets get started!

 1. Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream

Noxzema and I go way back. Ask any of the women in my family (on my Moms side) and they will all tell You that the refreshing eucalyptus/menthol scent of Noxzema reminds them of my Grandmother. Grandma T. loved her some Noxzema! Every morning she woke up and the first thing she would do is go into the washroom and wash with her Noxzema! I bought this purely out of nostalgia, and was surprised at how much I actually loved it, and how quickly I powered through the jar! It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft, not stripped. The smell is great for the morning because it wakes You up and makes You feel lively. I have already repurchased another tub, and will definitely again after that.

2. Biore' Blemish Fighting Astringent

I bought this out of boredom one day at the drugstore, a total impulse buy. I was in the middle of an epic breakout, and wanted to try something different. I didn't dislike this, but I don't feel like it did anything amazing for me either. It definitely leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh, but I prefer my Lush Tea Tree toner water. Unlike the Tea Tree Toner Water, this gives my skin that slightly tingling burning sensation which I'm not so fond of.

3. Lush Tea Tree Water Toner Water

Speak of the devil! This was recently in my February Faves post so I won't go too far into detail with it. Basically, I am in a love affair with it. It is great for oily/acne prone/sensitive skin. The tea tree oil in it is anti-bacterial/anti-fungal and the scent is super refreshing. I already have another, and a backup on the way!

4. Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover

This was one of my samples to use up, I believe I received it a while back in a gift with purchase. It is a dual phase makeup remover. When You shake it both phases are joined and then the product is ready to use. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It removes makeup easily, without having to tug or rub the eye area. The only downside that I found was that if I wasn't careful and got it in my eye it really stung. I would definitely use it again, but I am more of a fan of makeup wipes personally.

5. Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau De Toilette

Sephora describes this fragrance as: "a fruity-floral fragrance has a light and airy touch, bursting with top notes of blackberry, grapefruit, and pear. The heart notes are introduced with a bouquet of jasmine, lychee, and blue wisteria, and a medley of white woods, musks, and coconut water reveal the base notes". This fragrance is my new favourite and I am absolutely in love. It is so fresh, elegant and soft. I love anything with blackberry in it and this was no exception. I definitely recommend giving this a smell if Your into soft fruity scents. True to name, it is truly a dream.

6. Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette.

I am going to do my best to not sit here and just bash this product, but its going to be very hard for me. I *really* disliked this product. I can only show You the brow gel side because 2 days after purchasing this product the lid from the pencil side cracked and wouldn't go back on, and the pencil drove me crazy enough that I threw it out one day out of annoyance. The pencil was dry and had very little colour deposit. The brow gel is nice and soft, and gives a nice colour. The downside to the gel is it has zero hold and actually smudged on me a lot. I wanted to like this, but I just couldn't.

7. M.A.C Pro Longwear SPF 20 Foundation Compact

I cannot even tell You how much I LOVE this foundation. I have spent a good long time searching for the perfect compact creme foundation. I have tried so many over the years and have always been disappointed. Pro Longwear smooths my pores, controls my shine and leaves me skin looking and feeling soft. Word of warning, You have to be really careful to really blend this foundation out or it can be quite heavy. I like to apply it with a dampened beauty blender, or a dense synthetic stippling brush. I have multiple backups of this, and have no plan of giving it up anything soon!

8. Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Mascara in Black

The worst. I didn't even finish this, its just going into the garbage. There is nothing remotely waterproof about this mascara. It is the most wet and sloppy formula that I have ever used. Every time I tried to apply it the mascara was everywhere. My eyelids, my under eyes, my hands, my cheeks, everywhere. One day I managed to get it on my lashes and cleaned it up from my under eyes and decided to go out with it on. What a huge mistake. I do not recommend this mascara, at all, ever.

9. Origins Plantscription Youth-renewing Face Oil

This was another product that was recently featured in my February Favourites. I cannot get enough of this face oil. I have tried my fair share of oils and this one is by far my favourite. It offers my skin so much hydration and radiance. My skin always feels amazing after using this and it is nice and lightweight which pairs well with my combination skin. I already have multiple backups. I will not be giving this one up anytime soon. :)

10. Givenchy Very  Irr├ęsistible Eau De Toilette

This fragrance is described by Sephora as "Bursting with roses and infused with star anise, and verbena leaf, Very Irr├ęsistible Givenchy is a fresh departure from the traditional floral fragrance". I am a rose fanatic. I adore most rose scents, and this has to be one of my favourites. I have purchased the full size many times in the past, and would do so again many times over. I hold a special place in my heart for Givenchy fragrances, they are my favourite by far. This is in my top all time favourites for sure! If You love rose or floral scents, I highly recommend You check this one out! It is so long wearing and great for spring/summer. :)

Thank You so much for checking out my Trash Talk review! If You have tried any of these please let me know in the comments what You thought of them! Feel free to Tweet on Twitter, Share on Facebook, Pin on Pinterest or like my page on Instagram and Bloglovin
